The Krauss Department store, which occupied two city blocks of Canal St. for 94 years, was converted to luxury condominiums in 2008. Here one may live at the pulse beat of New Orleans, for the French Quarter, the Garden District, and the Arts District are all minutes from this location. Here one may partake of New Orleans cuisine at Commander’s Palace Restaurant and Brennan’s Restaurant, but two of the fine restaurants downtown in the Big Easy. This building is also commonly called 1201 Canal St. Condos.
